The short version
- Steep & Simmer is free to use for timing tea, cooking and anything else.
- Please don’t copy the app’s content to use elsewhere, or build a copy of the app with it.
- Brewing suggestions are a starting point, not a guarantee. Take care with hot water and hot pans.
Using the app
You can use Steep & Simmer on your phone to time things. You don’t need an account.
What’s ours
The app, its design, the sounds it makes itself, its wording and translations, and its tea suggestions belong to us. Please don’t:
- copy, scrape or download them in bulk, or reuse them in another app, website, book or dataset;
- use them to train or improve an AI model;
- try to get round the app’s protections, or take it apart to get at its data.
What isn’t ours
The open-source software and fonts inside the app, and the recorded alarm sounds credited under Licences, under their own licences, which these terms don’t change. They’re listed under Licences.
No guarantees
We provide the app as it is. We work to keep it running and correct, but can’t promise it always will be. A phone can stop an alarm from sounding (low battery, silent or Do Not Disturb settings, the phone switching the app off), so don’t rely on it where a missed alarm could cause harm. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for losses from using it, or from not being able to.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. Questions: hello@longbeard.consulting.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States. If you’re a consumer in the UK, the EU or elsewhere, you also keep the protections the law where you live gives you, which these terms can’t take away.
